Riverfront Recapture, Inc. (RRI)

Riverfront Recapture, Inc. is a public private partnership who, over the last 25 years, has worked hard to reclaim the CT River for recreation and the people of the region.

Clemow Consulting Group, LLP began working with RRI in 1995, helping them research and write grants, complete a strategic planning process in 1997 which resulted in a $1 million capacity building grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

In 1998, RRI hired CCG to conduct a feasibility study for a Capital Campaign.

In 1999 the $5.2 million Capital and Endowment Campaign began to build a boathouse at Riverfront Park and to construct a stage canopy at Riverfront Plaza.  The Kresge Foundation awarded RRI a $300,000 Challenge Grant and the Challenge and the Campaign were completed in June, 2001.  In the process of the Campaign, many new volunteers and donors were welcomed into the organization.

Clemow Consulting Group, LLP worked with the Village in 2003 to analyze the organization and conduct an development audit to replace a 7 person development and marketing department which was terminated.  CCG, through a series of interviews with the Board and Staff, confidential Board surveys and a look at planning documents, financial statements, development materials, created an audit with recommendations and an organizational chart for re-staffing the department.  The Audit also included suggested job descriptions and a basic development plan.  CCG also helped the Village renew and convert fundraising software system and database.

Yale New Haven Health Systems – Yale New Haven Hospital

CCG was hired to help the System and the Hospital devise a centralized and integrated grant proposal tracking, writing, and reporting system.  The objective of this project, named “Creating Synergy in Grantmaking,” was to assess grant making processes currently in place across the Yale New Haven Health System and Yale-New Haven Hospital, identify strengths, and gaps of the grantsmanship environment; research best practice systems; and plan for an integrated and improved grants system.   CCG provided the assessment and best practice research, developing a comprehensive model and action plan for integrating grantsmanship services throughout Yale New Haven Health System and Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Asylum Hill Boys & Girls Club Development Association, Inc.

The AHBGC was created by a group of community folks who wanted to build a $7 million Boys & Girls Club in the Asylum Hill neighborhood.  The campaign exceeded its $7 million goal which provided additional money for a playground and other non-budgeted essentials.  CCG conducted the feasibility study prior to that successful campaign and conducted the campaign itself.

Foodshare, Inc.

Foodshare is a regional food bank that provides 12 tons of food each day to food pantries, community kitchens, emergency shelters, mobile distribution sites, and other social service organizations.  Foodshare's dream was to create a new distribution center which could accommodate the growing needs of the community.  In 2005, they exceeded their goal of $4.5 million and raised $4.8 million and constructed its new facility in Windsor.

West Hartford Public Library

In 2005 Clemow Consulting Group completed a study to determine the feasibility of the West Hartford Library’s launching a capital campaign of $1 million to be raised from private sources.  These funds were to complete a project of renovation and expansion of the Library building. The $1 million would complete a campaign of $9 million which were given by the town, the state and other private sources.  The Library exceeded its goal and also raised enough money to cover its expenses.

Fellowship Place

oClemow Consulting Group, LLP (CCG) was hired in the fall of 2003 to conduct a feasibility study for Fellowship Place to see if the organization could raise $2.5 million in a capital campaign.  The funds would be raised to renovate the Main Building, to build a new East Building, to add new programs and services and to begin a $500,000 endowment to sustain the organization’s future.  Fellowship Place raised $4 million - $2 million from state bonding dollars, and exceeded its goal.
