- Assessments
CCG has deep experience in a number of types of non-profit assessments including: Organizational Assessments, Development Assessments, Campaign Readiness Assessments, and Feasibility Assessments. Over the years, CCG has helped over 150 clients assess their challenges and opportunities to determine their readiness for future steps. These assessments are conducted by a team of experienced consultants, usually through interviews and market research, and can take 1 to 5 months depending on the assignment. They culminate in a written report and/or PowerPoint presentation to the organization and its Board. - Executive Searches
CCG has conducted many searches for Development Directors and Executive Directors. Of the 6 searches that we have conducted over the last 5 years, 5 of the people that were hired are still in their position. In order to find the best candidates for the position we:
- Help to write the job description and the advertisement for the position
- Place the ad in print and online publications
- Screen resumes received
- Select 5 to 7 candidates for a telephone interview
- Recommend 2-3 people to be interviewed by the Search Committee and share the resumes and notes from the telephone interviews
- After one candidate has been chosen, CCG conducts reference checks
CCG has been successful with its placements because of the broad network of non-profit executives and development staff in Connecticut and New England that we have cultivated over our 20-year history, and the care with which we conduct each search. We also have an excellent track record of placing the right person in each position.
- Fund Development
CCG can help you increase your organizational capacity to raise funds either through annual funds, corporate sponsorships, major and planned giving programs and/or capital and endowment campaigns. Whether you are looking for ways to increase your operating support or for help with special capital needs, CCG can give you tools and training to meet your funding goals. All of our capital campaigns have exceeded their goals and the organizations that we have helped build their capacity are fiscally stronger after our work with them. - Governance Issues
There are times in the life of a non-profit when Board members’ responsibilities and Board governance need a tune-up. CCG will help your board and your nominating/governance committee to better define their roles and responsibilities, evaluate the workings of the board and key committees and update their policies, procedures, board manuals and bylaws. In addition to the afore mentioned, CCG can also help with Board recruitment and orientation, establishing Board fundraising responsibilities, and creating effective Board and staff working relationships. - Grant Writing
CCG will research funding sources to find appropriate potential state, federal, corporate, local, and foundation funding for programs/organizations. We will work with clients to gather the necessary information, then write applications and proposals to obtain the necessary funding. In addition, we will help clients to develop relationships with possible funders that will lead to successful funding requests. - Strategic Planning
A good strategic plan can help the Board and the staff to decide on priorities for the organization and assure accountabilities for staff and volunteers alike. We have helped over 27 clients with their planning needs including strategic organizational plans, business plans and development plans. Improving finance and personnel systems, developing new and innovative approaches to programming, and strategic development planning are all core strengths of the firm. We specialize in looking at the multiple facets of non-profits and developing tailor-made strategic plans.
